On Monday 2 July 2018 a group of 22 Headway North Cumbria members headed off to the Lake District to The Lingholm Estate at Portinscale on Derwentwater.
We had an excellent lunch at The Lingholm Kitchen in a delightful shady outdoor area overlooking some of the gardens. We enjoyed delicious sandwiches, quiche, scones and cakes along with homemade lemonade. We would like to thank the staff of The Lingholm Kitchen for taking such care of us over lunch.
Following lunch we met a group of alpacas from Alpacaly Ever After. Members were given the opportunity to get up close to these wonderful animals, feed them, and ask as many questions as they could think of. We would like to thank Terry Barlow and the team from Alpacaly Ever After for the opportunity to meet and feed the alpacas – the knowledge and passion of the team was second to none and really made for an exiting time for Headway North Cumbria members.
The event was supported by a very generous donation from the Keswick Lions to whom we are truly indebted.
Transport was provided by Cumbria Community Transport. We are grateful to Philip Hadwin for agreeing to drive for us.
A selection of photographs from the event can be found in the Gallery under the tab “Alpacas”
