Kimberley Middleton, a 26 year old Civil Engineer, will be running the Leeds Half Marathon to raise funds for Headway North Cumbria. Originally from Carlisle, Kimberley is now living in Leeds.
Kimberley lost one of her best friends seven years ago and for a while has wanted to do something in honour of him. It has taken her a while to build up the courage to do something like the half marathon since she is not a runner, but she has decided that this is the year she finally wanted to do something. She has chosen to fund raise for Headway North Cumbria because had her friend, Seán, survived his brain injury he and his family would have needed support from ourselves.
The Leeds Half Marathon will be run on 12 May 2019. Around 7,000 signed up for last year’s event enjoying its challenging course, enthusiastic crowds and fantastic atmosphere. The 2018 Leeds Half Marathon raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities and good causes across Yorkshire and beyond. The route starts in The Headrow alongside Victoria Gardens, heads out of the city centre, takes in a section of the Ring Road and returns via Abbey Road and Kirkstall Road before finishing in Cookridge Street alongside Millennium Square.
Anyone wishing to sponsor Kimberley are invited to visit her Virgin Money Giving page and make a donation.
Headway North Cumbria is extremely grateful to Kimberley for selecting us as her favoured charity and wishes her all the very best during the Leeds Half Marathon.
