On Monday 15th April thirty-nine members of Headway North Cumbria visited Heads Nook Hall for Afternoon Tea.
Located on the edge of the village of Heads Nook, seven miles from Carlisle, Heads Nook Hall offers a unique luxury Country Guest House experience. Built in the 1840s, Heads Nook Hall retains all the original Victorian features, including a panelled dining room.
On arrival we were greeted with a glass of prosecco or non-alcoholic prosecco and the Afternoon Tea was served in the beautiful wood panelled breakfast room which had been booked for our exclusive use.
The Tea menu comprised a delicious selection of sandwiches and cakes all homemade by the cook and served with tea and coffee. The following items were offered:-
Prawn mayonnaise sandwiches
Ham salad sandwiches
Egg mayonnaise sandwiches
Cheese and tomato sandwiches
Mini sausage rolls
Mini cheese & onion rolls
Fruit & plain scones with jam and clotted cream
Mini Eton mess with shortbread hearts
Sponge cake with cream and jam
Lemon drizzle cake
It was certainly a good outing which everyone seemed to enjoy. The traditional decor and wood panelling of the room provided a lovely environment for our members to relax and socialise. The afternoon tea was delicious and so generously proportioned that many of our members were able to take away some of the left-overs so that they could enjoy it later, when they weren’t quite so full!
Headway North Cumbria would like to thank the staff of Heads Nook Hall for putting on such a splendid tea and for looking after us so well.
