Headway North Cumbria suspended all group meetings and activities as a result of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. It has been decided that this will continue until further notice, probably until Spring 2021. We understand that this may come as a disappointment to some but the well-being of our members, volunteers, carers and families is our main priority.
THE DAY CENTRE
The Day Centre held at The New Waterton Hall on Mondays from 13:00 – 15:30 will remain closed for the time being and certainly for the remainder of the year. The intention is to re-open at the same time and place once it is considered appropriate to do so. This will only happen once Government guidelines and Headway National direction permit us to re-open and even then will only occur if, following a comprehensive risk assessment, the Committee considers it safe to do so.
VIRTUAL DAY CENTRE
Headway North Cumbria runs a weekly Zoom meeting for those that wish to participate. This occurs on a Monday afternoon commencing at 2 pm and runs for 40 minutes. Attendance is by invitation only and those wishing to be invited should contact the branch Secretary.
PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES
The programme of events that we had intended to run for 2020 has been frozen and most events have been cancelled or postponed to a later date. Those that remain in the programme are also liable to cancellation or postponement. Please visit the Events page to view activities that are coming up in 2020 and 2021.
HEADWAY NORTH CUMBRIA HELPLINE
Despite the need to close the Day Centre, Headway North Cumbria will try to provide as much support as we can to our membership. A helpline has been established as a point of contact for anyone that needs support and will be manned by our volunteers. Please ring 07508 111834 if you need any assistance.
COMMUNICATION WITH OUR MEMBERS
Headway North Cumbria will continue to engage with its members using e-mail and/or text in line with the preferences members selected on their consent form. We can also be contacted using WhatsApp!
