New Mills Trout Fishing Park

New Mills Trout Fishing Park is set within 7 acres of rolling countryside and is centred upon an historic 1753 Corn Mill, which was originally part of the Howard family’s Naworth Castle Estate.

New Mills stream-fed pond has been an oasis for anglers since the 1980’s and the amenities around it have been developed ever since.  In 2012, the property was acquired to develop an outstanding venue for fishermen and families in north west England.

Headway North Cumbria plans to take a group to fish in the “Fun Fishing Pond” which is also fed by the Quarry Beck and is perfect for the novice, young or old!   Stocked with rainbow trout, it offers fun for all, whether you have fished before or not.   If you don’t have your own rod, don’t worry, since the park has everything that may be needed.  The park’s friendly staff will be on hand to help you as much or as little as you need.  It should be noted that all fish caught must be killed and paid for at the park’s standard rate – staff will help with the killing and preparation of the fish.

The fishing park has a standalone cabin that we will be able to use for a bring your own picnic or for a buffet provided by the co-located Bite Cafe.

The cost to attend this event will be approximately £5 but this may vary dependant on whether we decide to picnic or have a buffet provided – this decision will be made once we have an idea of the level of interest and have consulted with potential attendees.  Those fishing will also need to pay for any fish caught, but will be able to take them away with them.
