On Monday 14 April 2025 members of Headway North Cumbria enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea at Adeline’s on Corporation Road, Carlisle.
We were fortunate to have exclusive use of this stylish Tea Room and enjoyed a superb selection of homemade sweets and savouries, served with tea and filter coffee. The delicious treats on offer included a selection of finger sandwiches, homemade quiche and sausage rolls served warm along with a pickle tray. This was followed by a sweet selection including raspberry cheesecake, iced chocolate cake, Victoria sponge cake, classic vanilla school cake with sprinkles, mini strawberry tartlets and scones with jam and cream.
A good time was had by all with plenty of conversation to go around. There was lots of food available – indeed many of our members were able to take a box of goodies home with them.
This was the last time that that we will be taking Afternoon Tea at Adeline’s because the Tea Room will be changing ownership at the end of June. We have very much enjoyed our various visits for afternoon tea and this seems to be have been appreciated by Adeline’s who commented on their Facebook page as follows:
