On Monday 11 October 2021 a group of members from Headway North Cumbria went Ten Pin Bowling at Hollywood Bowl, Carlisle. This was the first activity that we have run outside of the Day Centre since restarting face-to-face activities on 6 September 2021.
The branch normally has two outings to the bowling centre each year but this was the first time we had been able to go bowling since February 2020. We took over four lanes and had 17 people bowling, with an additional two supporting from the side. Participants had the opportunity to play two games.
Whilst there were no winners prizes as such those members with a more competitive edge enjoyed bragging rights and associated banter when games went their way. Highest score of the day was 146.
Whether experienced bowlers, or complete novices, everyone entered into the spirit of the occasion and had great fun!
