Look Ahead in the North 2019

Look Ahead in the North 2019 will be held over the period 22-24 March 2019 at the Calvert Trust, Kielder Water & Forest Park. Headway North Cumbria was initially allocated 10 places for this event, though, as in previous years, we requested additional places.   We have now received confirmation that we have been allocated 13 places for the event this year and those that will be attending have been notified accordingly. As before, the branch will be making a contribution towards the costs of attendance so the cost per individual to participate will be £90. .....

Presentation on the Anatomy of the Brain

Paul Russell, a Clinical Neuro-psychologist and Lindsay King, a Speech Therapist, from the Cumbria Community Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Team (CCABIRT) will attend the Day Centre on Monday 29 April at 1.30 pm.  They will give a fun, but informative, presentation on the anatomy of the brain which it is hoped that our members and supporters will find stimulating and relevant. The usual range of Day Centre activities will also take place.

Lake District Calvert Trust

Platty+ – Watersports on Derwentwater

On 27 July 2019 we will be heading off to Derwentwater for water sports with our friends at Platty+. Platty+ is a small friendly family run water sports centre based on the shores of Derwentwater experienced in dealing with individuals and groups, children and adults (including those with special needs), families with young children, corporate groups and school parties.  They are offering a two hour programme that will run from 10 am to 12 noon with attendees being given the opportunity to go on the water in a canoe, kayak, or dragon boat......

Christmas Fair 2019

Headway North Cumbria will hold its annual Christmas Fair at the Victory Hall, Dalston on Saturday 23 November 2019.  Doors will open at 10:00 and the Fair will run until noon. Freshly made mince pies, scones and biscuits will be served with tea and coffee. Join us for some Christmas shopping where there will be a variety of stalls selling a wide range of products.
