Ahead of the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement, due on 22 November 2023, Headway has relaunched its campaign Budget for Brain Injury. The upcoming spending review has provided another opportunity to request that government funding is allocated to support the implementation of the ABI Strategy as well as for vital specialist community rehabilitation services, like those provided by local Headway charities across the country.
This time Headway has teamed up with Brainkind, Child Brain Injury Trust and United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) to call on the government to provide this important funding. These charities have co-signed an open letter to Chancellor setting out the request.
Details of the campaign can be found here here:
As part of the campaign Headway are asking people to sign an online pledge card which requests that the Chancellor allocate funds for people living with brain injury. It would be great if you could sign the card, and also disseminate the link to any of your contacts who may also wish to pledge support for the campaign.
To pledge you will need to:
– provide your name and e-mail address.
– choose from a drop menu your connection to brain injury (e.g. I have a brain injury, I know someone with a brain injury…..).
– (optionally) write a sentence or two about why you are supporting the campaign.
There are also two yes/no questions about how Headway UK might engage with you in future.
Readers are encouraged to support this campaign. Pledging is easy to do and should take no more than 1 or 2 minutes.
