It was a bit of a change from our normal offering at the Day Centre session on Monday 1 December 2025. Rather than arts and crafts and dominos members participated in a couple of rounds of Rock and Roll Bingo, followed by Karaoke.
Rock and Roll Bingo is similar to the traditional game of bingo, but the numbers on the bingo card are replaced by classic and popular songs. Instead of marking off numbers, players listen to snippets of music and then cross off the song titles they hear on their bingo cards. Prizes were awarded to the players that were the first to complete a row of five songs, two rows of five songs, and finally, the whole card of 15 songs.
Two games were played – the first comprising festive songs, the second, a range of popular music.
“Eyes down, Listen In”. Players concentrated hard throughout and had a great time, though some needed help with identifying some of the songs.
After a short break in which our cooking group shared the delicious mincemeat pinwheels they had prepared it was time for Karaoke.
We were treated to a range of songs in a variety of styles. Well done and congratulations to all those that were prepared to stand up and give it a go – you were all great !!
A huge thank you to Shauna for running the bingo and compering the karaoke. Thanks to you it was a great afternoon.
