On 30 March 2026 Headway North Cumbria held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the New Waterton Hall. Chair, Julian Simpson, welcomed attendees to the meeting and thanked them for attending. He followed this with an overview on branch activities held over the previous year. He thanked the committee members and volunteers for their hard work in support of the branch’s activities and praised fundraisers and donors for their efforts in generating the income so necessary in enabling the branch to lay on such a wide range of activities. The Treasurer provided an overview of branch finances and income and expenditure for 2025. The Secretary provided details of the activity programme for 2026. A committee for 2026 was elected.

Following the formalities of the AGM a somewhat more light-hearted activity took place – an Eater Egg Hunt. Day Centre Manager and Vice-Chair, Jean Wight, had prepared some riddles that she invited members to solve. The first person to correctly solve each riddle had the opportunity to search for one of a series of Easter themed tokens that had been hidden earlier in the day in various places around the hall. Each token could then be exchanged for an Easter egg. Great fun was had as people searched high and low, under tables, behind posters and for their chance to win a chocolate treat.
