Activity Weekend at the Lake District Calvert Trust

Headway North Cumbria has booked a residential activity weekend for its members at the Lake District Calvert Trust near Keswick. The dates chosen are Friday 30 June to Sunday 2 July 2023 – arriving on the afternoon of the Friday and departing after lunch on the Sunday. The booking is for 18 participants.
Participants will be divided into groups of 6 and will have the opportunity to undertake three separate activities over the course of the weekend as well as enjoy the fresh air of the Lake District and enjoy the hospitality of the Calvert Trust. No decision has been made at this stage as to what activities will be offered, but when the time comes to do so, this will be done in consultation with those members that will be attending.
We will be seeking external funding and using some of our own funds to offset the cost to individuals. The intent is to offer places to members, carers and support workers for no more than £100 a head.
The last time that Headway North Cumbria ran an event like this was in June 2019 when we attended with 24 people and the activities chosen were catamaran sailing, bushcraft, dinghy sailing, horse riding, the ropes course, a lakeland walk/push and canoeing. We are currently in the initial stages of planning but the dates and number of participants is now fixed. We will start more detailed planning in the New Year and will be asking those that wish to participate to complete a booking form and pay a deposit to secure their place. Priority will be given to those that have already expressed an interest in participating, but places will be available for those that have yet to do so. To secure a place we would ask that you sign up, complete a Medical Information and Consent form, and pay a deposit of £40 by 27 February 2023. The balance of £60 will be payable by 30 April 2023.
