A Chance for Life will be launching a new rehabilitation facility over the summer. The OWL (Onward with Life) Barn is located just outside Penrith and the intent is to run therapy programmes and to promote areas such as cognitive/neuro/physical rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, horticultural opportunities and animal husbandry. Therapy will focus around individually tailored programmes and the use of group work.
Headway members have been offered the opportunity to participate in two free taster therapy sessions. The sessions are as follows:
– Thursday 24 August, 2pm – 4pm – Mindfulness and Relaxation – group of 6 (plus up to 6 carers/family members).
– Wednesday 30 August, 2pm – 4pm – Gardening – group of 6 (plus up to 6 carers/family members).
If you feel that one, or both, of these sessions would be of interest to you then please let me the Secretary, Natalie, know. Please note that attendees will need to make their own way to the venue in Penrith – transport will not be provided. In the event of oversubscription places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, but a reserve list will be maintained.
